Head Alignment
Use to fine-adjust the print alignment between adjacent print cartridges (heads).
NOTE
: Minor print misalignments, between adjacent print cartridges across the length of the media, are
common. For this reason we suggest that you avoid splitting text/images between print cartridges.
1. Close your software application before proceeding.
2. Open the
“Devices & Printers”
folder.
3. Right-click on your printer model “
RENA XPS-ProMail 3.0

or RENA XPS-ProMail 4.0
…
”
and select “
Printer
Properties
”.
The “
Printe
r
Properties”
window opens.
4. Click on the
“Device Settings”
Tab.
5. Click on the item labeled “
Head Alignment
”.
The Head Alignment “
Properties…”
Button will appear.
6.
Click on the Head Alignment “
Properties…
” Button.
7. The
“Head Alignment”
window will open.
Adjust the values, as needed, to align the images being
produced by adjacent cartridges (Print Heads).
Each Head can be ad/- 50.
1 = ~ 0.001". 50 = ~ 0.050”
Negative (-) value
=
Head prints earlier
; moving the print
position
toward
the leading edge of the media.
Positive (+) value
=
Head prints later
; moving the print
position
away
from the leading edge of the media.
Tip:
If your software application is already open, you will not
see any affect in the printout until you close and reopen the
application.
NOTE
: Once a job is sent, with changes to the Head Alignment
values, these changes will also temporarily affect the printer’s
internal images (Purge and Test). Internal image alignments will
revert to default once printer power is cycled.
