RESULT IN SERIOUS
INJURY OR DEATH!
DANGER
Generally a working platform is recommended for
work performed on the Stir-Rite III when in its raised
position.
Although the use of ladders is probably the most used
method for installation of the Stir-Rite III, safety must
always come first. Make sure to properly secure all
ladders before performing any work on the unit.

6. Position the auger assembly so the upper flange
bearing rests on the top of the trolley mount plate,
and align the mount holes (See Fig. 48).
Insert a 5/16-18 x 1” bolt through each of the mount
holes and install a lock washer and nut, do not
tighten completely.
7. Slide the lower bearing and lock collar up against
the trolley, and using two (2) 5/16-18 x 1” bolts,
lock washers and nuts, secure the bearing to the
trolley mount plate.
Set the lower bearing locking collar in the direction
of shaft rotation and tighten set screw.
Continue using these same procedures for cutting
and installing the remaining augers.

8. Install the V-belt from the auger pulley to the motor
pulley. Generally, the pulley alignment will be cor-
rect, if necessary, adjust the motor up or down to
align the pulley’s
(the motor is heavy, only loosen
the bolts enough to allow the motor to be moved).
Loosen the belt shield mounting nuts enough to
allow the shield to slip into place, and install the
belt shield. Tighten hardware.
Use the same procedures to install the remaining
V-belts and shields.
NOTE
After the Stir-Rite III has been installed,
electrical connections will need to be made.
Have a qualified electrician complete all
electrical hook-ups.
9. Verify that the Warning Labels, as shown in Figure
2B (Page 11), are all present and legible.
10. Once all electrical has been completed, remove
any wires or clamps securing the drive rollers
to the track, and remove the winch and winch
stands from the bin roof.
•
When setting a ladder against the Stir-Rite III,
a vise grip or some type of tie-down should be
used in the front and in the back of the rollers
on the track drive unit. This keeps the unit from
sliding around the bin while service work is be-
ing performed, which if not properly secured,
could roll and cause the ladder to fall resulting
in personal injury or death.
WARNING
•
Because the unit is suspended from chains in
the center, care has to be exercised whenever
a ladder is placed against the Stir-Rite III. The
unit can move or swing from the weight of the
person climbing on the ladder causing the lad-
der to fall, resulting in severe personal injury or
death.
•
Bin floors can be slippery. If using a ladder,
make sure the ladder is securely fixed before
attempting to climb. The ladder should be se-
cured at the top as well as at the bottom. Failure
to do so may cause the ladder to fall, resulting
in severe personal injury or death.
•
If an unusual amount of service work is to be
performed on the Stir-Rite III, it may be safest
to remove the augers and lower the unit to the
bin floor.
•
Do Not operate this unit if the belt shield is not
secured in place. Failure to heed this warning
could result in severe personal injury or death!
