CAUTION

When connecting the IDE cable, be sure to use the correct cable
connector. Using the wrong connector can cause your system to
malfunction and damage the cable.

On the IDE cable, pick a connector to attach to your IDE device. Note
the location of the blocked hole in the connector.

Blocked pin hole

On the IDE device, locate the gap in the cable port. It looks like a space
with a missing pin.

Missing pin on IDE device connector

Align the gap on the device port with the blocked pin hole on the cable
connector and connect them.
