4.7 Alarm Setup

90-10-01* Alarm Type
Per Alarm Number (
1 ~ 100 ) specify an alarm type. If an
alarm is set to “Not Set” then NO alarm information will
be generated.
If an alarm is set to “Major Alarm” or “Minor Alarm” then
alarm data will be presented when an error occurs. The
alarm report will be labeled with the “Major Alarm” or “Mi-
nor Alarm” tag in the report.
The following Alarms are suggested when troubleshoot-
ing an SL Net network:
Alarm
15 – Network Keep Alive
Alarm 17 – Denial of Service Attack
Alarm 57 – IP Address Collision (Duplicate IP Assign-
ment)
Alarm
59 – SL Net port count exceeded
Alarm 64 – VoIPDB LAN link error
Alarm 65 – VoIPDB trouble information
Alarm 68 - VoIPDB DSP all Busy
0 = Not Set (No Alarm Generated)
1 = Major Alarm
2 = Minor Alarm
Default Alarm Settings
Alarm 15 = 0
Alarm 17 = 1
Alarm 57 = 2
Alarm 59 = 2
Alarm 64 = 1
Alarm 65 = 0
Alarm 68 = 2
(Refer to the SL2100 programming manual for
the default values of all Alarms)
10-31-01 Keep Alive Interval
This PRG is used to set the Interval in which the system
will send a Keep Alive message to Remote SL Net sys-
tems.
When set to 0 a Keep Alive will not be sent across the
network and Alarm 15 will not be reported on.
When set to (1 ~ 65535 seconds) the system will send a
Keep Alive to the Remote SL Net systems at this interval.
When the system does not receive a response to one of
these Keep Alive messages an Alarm 15 will be gener-
ated and labeled as a Warning.
An example of this alarm is: MIN 0015 WAR 11/07/11
14:07 NW KeepAlive -none- ID:02-004
MIN = Minor Alarm, this is because the Alarm was flag-
ged as minor.
0015 = Alarm number 15.
WAR = Warning, indicating the network is still up but a
keep alive was missed.
11/07/11 = Date the Warning was generated
14:07 = Time in 24 hour format that the Warning was
generated
NW KeepAlive = Alarm Name
None = Field not used
ID:02-004 = System ID 02 (from PRG 10-27) did not re-
spond to 4 Keep Alive messages.
0 = Disabled
1~65535 = 1~65535 seconds
(default =0)
10-31-02 Keep Alive Retry Timer
This program is used to set the amount of times the sys-
tem will resend a Keep Alive message when there is no
response from the other side.
If the response is not received within the specified num-
ber of retries, the networking link will be taken out of
service. When the link is taken out of service an Alarm 15
will be generated and labeled as an Error.
An example of this alarm is: MAJ 0015 ERR 11/07/11

MAJ = Major Alarm, this is because the Alarm was flag-
ged as major.
0015 = Alarm number 15.
ERR = Error, indicating the network link was taken out of
service.
11/07/11 = Date the Error was generated.
14:10 = Time in 24 hour format that the Error was gener-
ated.
NW KeepAlive = Alarm Name.
None = Field not used.
ID:02 = System ID 02 (from PRG 10-27) was taken out of
service.
1 ~ 255 = How many retries are transmitted be-
fore the link is taken out of service
