3.  Installation and Connections of Device 

Expansion Unit 

This section describes the installation and connections of the Device Expansion Unit. 
 

INSTALLATION 

Install the Device Expansion Unit in a standard EIA 19-inch rack assembly. 
 

Installation of Rack 

For installation of the rack, refer to the manual that comes with the rack, or consult your 

sales agent. 

WARNING

 

 

 

 

Always observe the following cautions to enable you to use the Device 

Expansion Unit safely. 

Failure to follow these instructions may cause death or serious personal injury. 

See the description on pages iv through xviii for details. 

 

 

 

 

Do not use the Device Expansion Unit in any place other than specified. 

 

Do not connect the ground wire to a gas pipe.

Always observe the following cautions to enable you to use the Device 

Expansion Unit safely. 

Failure to follow these cautions may cause personal injury including burns 

and/or physical damages. See the description on pages vi through xvii for 

details. 

 

 

Do not attempt to carry or install the Device Expansion Unit only by yourself. 

 

Do not install with the load weight distributed unevenly. 

 

Do not attempt to assemble the rack only by yourself. 

 

Do not pull out any device from the rack if the rack is unstable. 

 

Do not provide the wiring exceeding the rating power.
