Hot-swap SCSI Hard Disk Drive Cage
The optional hot-swap SCSI hard disk drive cage can contain three hot-swap SCSI hard disk drives.
Installing the hot-swap SCSI hard disk drive cage allows you to access the SCSI hard disk drives
from the front of the chassis which can be swapped in or out of the system without powering it
down if RAID is configured in the system.
This cage can be installed in your server if the optional 5-inch file device bay is installed.
Installation
Refer to "File Device" described earlier in this chapter for installation procedures. For detail
connector location on the back of the cage, refer to the manual that comes with the cage.
After installing the cage, install the hard disk drive according to the instruction described in the
manual that comes with the cage.
IMPORTANT:
To keep the cooling effeciency, always install the
drive carrier to the vacant slot of the cage.
NOTE:
The SCSI hard disk drive(s) is not attached to the cage.
Purchase the hard disk drive separately. Contact your sales
representative or dealer for a list of approved devices.
Removal
The hot-swap SCSI hard disk drive cage can be removed in the reverse order of the installation.
