9-34 Upgrading Your Server
File Device
The server has two slots on which backup devices including DVD-RAM, MO, and magnetic tape
drives are installed (the normally equipped CD-ROM drive occupies another slot).
Install devices in the 5.25-inch device bay below the CD-ROM drive.
The device bay is integrated to be a single chassis (the integrated chassis is called the file bay).
NOTES:
If a SCSI device is installed, the optional SCSI controller board and
built-in SCSI cable are required. See "CABLE CONNECTIONS"
for details.
To install the DVD-RAM and AIT (IDE) drives, change the cable to
the IDE cable (2 steps) provided with the device. (Save the removed
cable carefully.) In addition, set the operation mode as follows.
Refer to the manuals provided with the DVD-RAM and AIT (IDE)
drives for details.
– Normally equipped CD-ROM drive: master (setting at shipment)
– DVD-RAM drive: slave
– AIT (IDE) drive: slave
