Press down on the heat sink clip retention latch until it springs outward from
the fastener tab on the base of the ZIF socket of the processor that you are
removing. See Figure 4-9.

CAUTION
When performing the remaining steps in this procedure, do
not touch the thermal tape located between the heat sink
and the processor as the tape is easily damaged.
8.
Remove the heat sink clip by pulling it up and over the center of the heat
sink and detach the small end of the clip from the tab on the base of the ZIF
socket, as shown in Figure 4-9. Remove the heat sink.

Raise the ZIF socket lever to the up position. See Figure 4-10.

10.
Grasp the opposite sides of the processor, apply equal upward force on each
side and rock it from side to side until it releases.
11.
Place the processor into an antistatic container.
