If You Have a System . . .
Some Programming Exercises
If you have a system available for your use, you can try some of the following
exercises. This will help you become familiar with what you’ll see as you pro-
gram and allow you to feel more comfortable with the system.
Using the DS1000/2000 Software Manual, first program the system for the fol-
lowing features, then see how the system handles the changes.
System Programming
●
Set the
Time and Date
for the system (Program 0302).
The time and date should change on the display phones.
●
Program
System Speed Dial
numbers to use 2-digit codes. Store a
System
Speed Dial
number in bin 25 (Program 0101, 0201, 0301, 0401, 0402, 1002,
1101, 1701, 1702, 1704, 1802, 1803).
●
Program the system for
Night Service
(Program 0101, 1003, 1701, 1704,
1801, 1803, 1805). Program a Night Key (Program 1701) for extension 302 on
key 12.
●
Program the
Park Orbit
timer for 20 seconds (Program 0401, 1701, 1704).
●
Using the
Programmable Function Key
feature, program extension key 11 as
a Park Orbit Key (Program 1701).
●
Using the
Names for Extensions and Trunks
feature (Program 1801), pro-
gram the extensions with the following:
Extension 301 = Mary
Extension 302 = John
Extension 303 = Pat
Keyset Operation
●
Intercom calls
Using a display phone at extension 301, the display should show
“Mary”. Now, place an Intercom call to extension 302 (ICM 302).
The display shows “John”. Hang up. Place an Intercom call to
extension 303. The display shows “Pat”. Hang up.
●
Transfer a call
Place an incoming call into the DS1000/2000 system. Answer the
call from extension 301, press ICM, dial 302, and hang up. The call
is then transferred to extension 302.
