Use with high frequency electrosurgical equipment
Do not locate the electrodes between the return electrode of an electrosurgical unit and the surgical site,
when a patient connected to the BRM2 Brain Monitor is undergoing electro-surgery.
Personal injury hazard
Ensure that the Monitor is securely mounted on the Roll Pole, or another approved mounting accessory,
to avoid personal injury.

and Data Acquisition Unit so as to minimize any risk of the cables becoming wrapped around the
patient’s throat.
Connection to external equipment
If the BRM2 Brain Monitor is connected to external equipment (for example, a printer), a qualified
biomedical engineer or technician must ensure that the resulting system complies with IEC 60601-1-1
and that there is no hazard caused by the summation of leakage currents.
Use of accessory equipment
Use of accessory equipment not approved by BrainZ Instruments Limited, or not complying with safety
standards equivalent to those met by the BRM2 Brain Monitor, may lead to a reduced level of safety of
the resulting system or failure of the BRM2 Brain Monitor to operate correctly.
