19.3 CLEANING
It is advisable to keep dust build-up on warm surfaces to a minimum, since dust, in some cases, can be a
combustible.
Dust build-up in the circulating fan can impair blower performance; therefore, reduce ef
fi
ciency.
The recovery coil is located immediately above the blower assembly. Over time, it may become coated with
dust. To clean the recovery coil:
1. Turn off electrical power to the furnace.
2. Remove the heat exchanger access door and the blower access door
3. Remove the screw thread covers of the screws attaching the heat exchanger to the division panel and
blower assembly.
LABEL ALL WIRES PRIOR TO DISCONNECTION WHEN SERVICING CONTROLS.
WIRING ERRORS CAN CAUSE IMPROPER AND DANGEROUS OPERATION
.
ALWAYS VERIFY OPERATION AFTER SERVICING.
CAUTION
!
!
4. Remove the screws fastening the blower assembly to the division panel and heat exchanger assembly
using a 1/4” hex drive.
5. Remove the drain hoses from the condensate trap and ensure any spillage is cleaned up.
6. Unplug wire harness connectors and remove the upper harness from the division panel by rotating the
twist-lock grommet counter-clockwise and pulling the connector through the clearance hole
(Figure 4 & 5)
.
7. Pull the heat exchanger assembly out.
