IO-Link communication

IO-Link configuration

With the

MVK-MPNIO

 module, the IO-Link devices can be configured and

their parameters can be defined in three different ways:

1 | IODD integration in GSDML
2 | IO-Link integration in

PROFINET

3 | Murrelektronik IO-Link Device Tool

IOOD integration

in GSDML

If the IO-Link device is available in the GSDML of the

MVK-MPNIO

, the

IO-Link device can be inserted as a subslot in the configuration instead of an

IO submodule.
Parameters for the IO-Link device can then be set in the same way as for a

comparable subslot in the configuration of your engineering software.

If your IO-Link device is not available, but you wish to use this type of config-

uration and parameter setting process, please contact your sales representa-

tive at Murrelektronik GmbH.

IO-Link integration

in PROFINET

The IO-Link integration in PROFINET is a standardized method for providing

access to the parameters and configurations of IO-Link devices via PROF-

INET interfaces.
The

MVK-MPNIO

 module supports integration version V1.0 Edition 2.

NOTICE

Murrelektronik-specific extensions to the IO-Link standards include the PnP-

IO-Link diagnostics as extended, vendor-specific behavior on IO-Link master

and device firmware (see chap. 9.3.3.2 "Murrelektronik IO-Link - Integration

and extended integration").

The

MVK-MPNIO

 module supports the following I&M data records:

IM_Index = 0xAFF0 -> Read access to IM0 IOL_M

IM_Index = 0xAFF1 -> Read access to IM1 IOL_M

IM_Index = 0xAFF2 -> Read access to IM2 IOL_M

IM_Index = 0xAFF3 -> Read access to IM3 IOL_M

IM_Index = 0xAFF4 -> Read access to IM4 IOL_M

IM_Index = 0xB063 -> Read access to IOL_M Directory

You can find more information in the document “IO-Link-Integration-for-PROF-

INET_Ed2_2_832_V10_Jun17”
