Engine oil filter with diverter
(option) – Oil filter replacement
with engine at standstill
1.
Stop engine (→ Page 88) and disable engine
start.
2.
Unscrew engine oil filter using filter wrench.
3.
Clean sealing surface on connecting piece.
4.
Check condition of the new engine oil filter
sealing ring and coat it with engine oil.
5.
Fit SOLAS shield (→ Page 165).
6.
Screw on engine oil filter and tighten by
hand.
7.
Replace other engine oil filters in the same
way.
8.
Crank engine on starting system after every
engine oil change and filter replacement
(→ Page 174).
9.
Check engine oil level (→ Page 219).
Engine oil filter with diverter
(option) – Oil filter replacement
with engine running
1.
To cut out the filter to be replaced, set the
three-way cock to the corresponding posi-
tion.
• Position A: Lower filters cut out
• Position B: Both filters cut in (normal oper-
ating position)
• Position C: Upper filters cut out.
2.
Unscrew engine oil filter using filter wrench.
3.
Clean sealing surface on connecting piece.
4.
Check condition of the new engine oil filter
sealing ring and coat it with engine oil.
5.
Fit SOLAS shield (→ Page 165).
6.
Screw on engine oil filter and tighten by
hand.
7.
Replace other engine oil filters in the same
way.
8.
Check engine oil level (→ Page 219).
