5.1 Fault indication on SAM display
General abbreviations used
The following general abbreviations are used in the fault message texts:
Abbreviation
Meaning
DL <Number>
Default Lost: The device identified by <number> has no connection to
the Default CAN bus.
RL <number>
Redundant Lost: The device identified by <number> has no connection
to the Redundant CAN bus.
SD <sensor designation>
Sensor defect: The sensor identified by <sensor designation> does not
provide an evaluable signal.
MD
Missing Data: A measuring point does not provide data.
AL
Alarm: Alarm message
SS
Safety System: The safety system responded in one of the specified
ways.
TD
Transmitter Deviation: Two sensors which acquire the measured val‐
ues of the same medium provide different measured values.
HI
High: The first limit value has been exceeded.
HIHI
High High: The second limit value has been exceeded.
LO
Low: The first limit value has not been attained.
LOLO
Low Low: The second limit value has not been attained.
MG
Message: General message
SE
System Error: Warning due to a node failure on the Default field bus.
PB
Push Button: Condition after activating certain control buttons.
AKR
AntiKlopfRegelung (Anti Knock Control GET)

The fault messages are generated by the engine governor ADEC (ECU) and by the SAM unit and trans‐
mitted to the SAM display (4).
