6.3.5 Spark plug – Removal and installation

Preconditions

☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑ Open protective packing of new spark plug only immediately prior to installation.

Removing spark plug

1.

Remove ignition cable (2) from ignition coil.

2.

Remove screws (4) and locking plate (5)

from cylinder head cover (1).

3.

Remove spark plug connector (3) with igni‐

tion cable (2) from spark plug.

4.

Unscrew spark plug a few threads.

5.

Clean spark-plug recess with compressed

air.

6.

Unscrew spark plug from cylinder head.

7.

Remove the lower gasket on ignition line

(see instructions for changing ignition line

gasket).
