Index/Reset Position
Enter the distance between the first event after the set index/ reset marking and top dead
center. With the button
Adjust
, you can enter the measured firing angle for a given nominal
value. The system calculates the difference from these values, which is added to or
subtracted from the index/reset position.
If you are using two redundant pickup sets, enter the value for pickup set 1 here. The
corresponding value for pickup set 2 is determined by the ignition controller. Details can be
found in the information box
Setting up a redundant pickup system.
–
Enable Redundancy
Activate the checkbox to be able to define two redundant pickup sets in the view
Engine –
Pickups – Inputs
. For general information on this, read the section
Redundant Pickup System
on page 60.
–
Aux. Pickup Supply Voltage
Enter the supply voltage with which the active pickup is to be operated. A value between 5 V
and 24 V is possible. The set auxiliary supply voltage is independently made available on
the inputs
Pickup 1 Power
to
Pickup 3 Power
and on the inputs
Pickup 4 Power
to
Pickup 6
Power
. If two redundant pickup sets are configured correspondingly, failure of the auxiliary
supply voltage affects just one pickup set.
Setting up a redundant pickup system
The index/reset position can be only configured for pickup set 1. For the
pickup set 2, the index/reset position is determined automatically the first
time the engine is started after the ignition controller has been configured.
The following procedure must be ensured:
1.
Download the configuration to the ignition controller.
2.
Start the engine.
▸
The ignition controller synchronizes both pickup sets.
▸
In the window
Runtime Data – Overview
, the status display
Available
in the area
Pickup Redundancy
is illuminated green if the
synchronization has been successfully completed.
▸
The index/reset position for the pickup set 2 is now determined and
stored automatically.
The saved position is cleared when a configuration is downloaded to the
device again. The index/reset position for the pickup set 2 cannot be
configured manually.
