ADJUSTING THE RIDING POSITION
Correct adjustment of the height of the saddle and the handlebars will ensure comfortable and safe riding.
This section details the various operations required to make adjustments to the MOBIKY :
. RECOMMENDATIONS :
In order to obtain the most comfortable riding position, the height of the saddle must be adjusted
according to the length of the cyclist’s lower limbs.
A good pedalling position is obtained by adjusting the height of the saddle so that when the leg is
extended the heel rests fl at on the pedal in its lowest position.
. INSTRUCTIONS :
. Adjusting the height of the saddle :
- Loosen the seat post securing clamp
- Raise the saddle to the desired position.
- If the desired height has still not been reached at maximum extension, repeat the
procedure with the saddle clamp
- Once the desired position has been obtained, tighten the securing clamps.
- Check that the saddle is properly fi xed by trying to rotate it in the frame. If it turns,
re-tighten the securing clamps and redo the test until the stem is completely locked
in the tube.
!
VERY IMPORTANT
For your safety, the saddle must not be pulled out beyond the marker line which is etched in the
saddle stem. Each time before you use the bicycle, check that this marker line is hidden by the
saddle stem tube.
. Setting the angle of the saddle :
- The nose of the saddle is in the optimum position when it is very slightly raised (by
between 0.5 cm and 1 cm) compared the rear of it so as to prevent the rider sliding
forwards.
- Loosen the (6 mm diameter) screw underneath the saddle which adjusts its nose
angle without undoing it completely.
- Slide the saddle forwards and/or backwards in order to obtain the desired angle.
- Re-tighten the screw once the desired position has been obtained.
Check that the saddle is properly fi xed in place by trying to make it slide. Re-tighten
as required.
