Chapter 4
Each user definable resource can be set to either
Available
or
Not
available.
Resources that are
Available
are assumed by the system not
to be in use by an ISA adapter, and can therefore be allocated
by the PCI and PnP auto-configuration processes. Those
resources that are
Not
available
are assumed to be in use
and are excluded from the auto-configuration process.
Menu
Resource Allocation
Memory Resources
This menu divides the memory map
between A0000h and E0000h into 16k
segments, and between 100000h and
FFFFFFh into 1M segments.
Note
The E0000h to FFFFFh area is always
allocated by the system.
I/O Port Resources
The I/O map is split into blocks of four
ports.
DMA Resources
Each DMA channel can be
independently allocated.
Interrupt Resources
Each interrupt can be independently
allocated.
Power management
The Power Management menu gives you control over the
system’s power saving features. These are:
System Standby
,
Hard Disk Standby
,
Monitor Power Management
, and
Security Mode
.
System Standby
This option can be set to
Disabled
,
After 5 minutes
,
After
15 minutes
or
After 60 minutes
.
