WARNING
Do not twist unnecessarily or use excessive force when using, connecting, disconnecting, or storing the
sensor.
An over-tight sensor can produce inaccurate saturation measurements. Therefore avoid over tightening the
adhesive tape.
It is recommended to fasten the cable to the wrist with a plaster or bandage.
2.8.6
Instruction for the belt and holder
The MIR Oxi can be used in its belt and holder, supplied as standard, which is particularly
suitable for long term testing.
See the image for the correct way to mount the device into the belt.
The belt enables the device to be carried comfortably by the patient, and can also be used
for sleep studies.
3 DATA TRANSMISSION
WARNING
Read the instructions carefully before starting the data transmission, taking due care to ensure that all the
information has been properly understood.
3.1 Wireless Data Transmission via Phone Line (optional function)
This type of data transmission allows for the transfer of all data saved in the memory of
MIROxi
. Through this method
the doctor can control the information sent directly from the patient and assess any changes to the therapy in course
from his/her PC.
To transfer the data memorised during various tests to the doctor’s PC, follow this procedure:
•
Dial the doctor’s phone number (for example, the doctor’s office, telemedicine services, or any other structure) directly
on the telephone in use.
•
Place both
MIROxi
and the phone on a level surface as shown in the figure:
The suitable distance between
MIROxi
and the
phone receiver is
between 2 and 5 cm
•
Place the microphone of the telephone (the microphone is nearest to the cable) near to the MIROxi as shown in the
diagram, with the phone receiver (beneath the device’s ID label). The hole should be close to (2 to 5 cm) the
microphone hole on the receiver.
WARNING
Where necessary the distance between
MIROxi
and the receiver can be up to 1 metre, depending on the
environmental noise, however the closer the receiver is to the hole of the
MIROxi
the more reliable will be the
data transmission. The suggested distance for a reliable transmission is a few centimetres.
•
From the main screen press (the
icon).
•
Then press (the
icon).
•
A transmission confirmation is requested by pressing OK, otherwise exit the programme by pressing ESC.
•
MIROxi
emits a series of acoustic signals which indicate that the data transmission has started.
•
Wait until
MIROxi
has completed the transmission (the acoustic signals end).
•
After the transmission the message “TRANSMISSION TERMINATED” will appear.
At any time during the transmission the process may be terminated by pressing ESC.
During this procedure it is strongly suggested to:
