The Continuous Power Series has several communication interfaces that allow
the user to monitor and control UPS functions through either remote monitor-
ing devices or through a host computer. The Continuous Power Series also
has several rear panel controls that are explained in this section.

REMOTE EMERGENCY POWER OFF
The Continuous Power Series has a dedicated port for a Remote Emergency
Power Off (REPO) device. A REPO device, shown in Figure 4-4, is designed
to shutdown the UPS from a remote location by opening a normally closed
switch. When the REPO switch is activated, power is turned off to the terminal
blocks or receptacles at the back of the unit. For details about installing and
operating a REPO device, see the instructions that accompany the device.

REPO wiring should also trip the input breaker to the UPS to
completely turn off the UPS.
RELAY INTERFACE PORTS
The relay interface port provides alarm signals on dry contacts. Table 4-2 and
Figure 4-5 show the pin locations for each alarm. Alarms include a summary
alarm, bypass indicator, line failure indicator, and an impending low battery
indicator. For details about how to use the various remote status devices, read
the instructions that come with those devices.
