3 Entering
Data
Before all features of your Minoltafax are available you need to make some
settings. This chapter explains how to set your name, your line type and
the partner stations with which you wish to communicate.
3.1
Typing Conventions in this Manual
If nothing else is requested, all keys are to be pressed one after the other
when entering data. This is also the case if they are connected by a "+" to
facilitate the layout. "Press

" means: Press the numeric
key
[

]
, then the numeric key
[

]
and then the key named

.
3.2 General
When entering numbers or letters move the cursor in the display to the left
using [
$
] (one-touch key 5) or to the right using [
#
] (one-touch key 6).
If you entered a wrong number move the cursor onto the wrong digit and
press [DELETE] (one-touch key 8) to remove it. Then enter the correct
digit.
Enter spaces by pressing [SPEED DIAL]: These spaces have no effect on
the programming, they just raise the legibility of telephone numbers.
Press [REDIAL/P] to program pauses in the dialling process. The length of
the pause is 3 seconds factory-set and may be changed using the
software switches. The pause is shown in the display by a colon.
If you operate the machine from a PBX system enter the line access
procedure in the telephone numbers by pressing [TONE]. How to program
the [TONE] key cf. " Entering Password, Name, Fax Number and Line
Type". The entry is shown in the display by "R".
[MENU] selects the desired procedure.
[SET] stores the entry and ends the procedure. The data is stored.
Press [STOP] to end the procedure and to delete the entry. In some cases
press [STOP] twice.
F
If you interrupt the procedure for more than one minute the machine
returns to standby mode without storing the data.
