Telnet Instruction
Telnet to the access point to verify the correct IP address, subnet mask, channel, and software
revision before you program.
1.
Verify the access point is connected to the PoE Switch or PC you are programming from.
2.
If connected to the PC, connect the PoE Injector to the access point.
3.
Go to the
Start
button, select
Run
, and enter
cmd.

.The Windows\system 32\.cmd.exe window (shown in FIGURE 2-8 )
appears.
5.
After the “>” prompt, enter the word
telnet
followed by the IP address, then press
Enter
.
NOTE:
Be sure to have a space between “telnet” and the “IP
address”. For example: telnet 192.168.1.2.
NOTE:
Do not type the command telnet and select Enter. This will
bring you to the telnet function which will not allow
programming. To exit the telnet function, type exit.

The Telnet window (shown in FIGURE 2-9) opens as Telnet 192.168.1.2 (or whichever IP
address was entered). The information listed is everything needed to know about the access
point.
