2.4.
The machines must be correctly packed in their original packaging before shipping. It is preferable to secure
the package to a European pallet so that it cannot overturn.
The pump must be drained before being
shipped

Mounting
2.5.
The vacuum pumps have four silentblocs with tapped holes in the base: 4xM8 for the E65.R/E100.R models,
and 4xM10 for the E200.R/E300.R models.
We recommend that you use these tapped holes to mount the pump on a base frame.
Handling
2.6.
Use the lifting rings provided for that purpose. Never place slings under the pump.
INSTALLATION AND PUTTING INTO SERVICE
3.
Installation
3.1.
The suction and discharge ports are protected during transport by caps or stickers. Remove these covers
before commissioning the pump.
Never operate the pump with these guards, as this may destroy the pump.
Suction
3.1.1.
A flame arrestor is recommended if there is a resolutely probable flame at intake.
Connect the suction to the process, preferably via a flexible connection, with filters inserted beforehand if
necessary. The flexible connection must withstand the final pressure (0.05 mbar absolute). For the pipe
diameter, at least the connection diameter must be observed. Remember to seal your connections.
To protect the pump, it is recommended to install an upstream filter or separator connected to the suction.
This filter must be mounted on the pump in such a way that no solid or liquid particles enter the pump
when replacing the filter element.
The pump is equipped with a non-return check valve to prevent oil from rising upwards if the enclosure
upstream of the suction port remains vacuumised when the pump stops. However, this non-return check
valve is not a safety device. It is recommended to isolate the pump from the vacuum system when it is
switched off. Install an automatic isolation valve that closes when the pump stops, or a non-return check
valve between pump and enclosure.
Ground continuity must be ensured between vacuum pump, filtration, customer network and
flexible connection. Connection pipes can accumulate electrostatic charges.
Stainless steel hoses are available as an option.
Never operate the vacuum pump with an open suction connection.
Undersized and/or excessively long suction piping reduces pump performance.
The suction pressure must not exceed the atmospheric pressure.
After installation and after any work on the system, carry out a leakage check.
The vacuum line must be sealed, reactive or corrosive gases can escape through leaky areas where the
pumped gases can react with air or moisture.
Exhaust
3.1.2.
Do not reduce or close the exhaust opening. If the discharge is collected, the pipe section
must have a minimum internal diameter equivalent to that of the pump discharge port.
Pipelines must be dimensioned in such a way that the pressure in the piping connected to the
discharge never exceeds 100mbar relative.
If several pumps are connected to the same exhaust piping, the section of the latter must at least be
equivalent to that of the sum of sections of the pumps' discharge ports. The manifold must be designed so
that, if condensation forms in the exhaust piping, it cannot return by flow to one of the pumps. It is
recommended to place a draining system at the lowest point of the discharge piping.
Use a hose that withstands heat and oil vapour to connect to the pipe.
If the exhaust is connected to an extraction system, the relative pressure to the pump discharge must not
drop below -50mbar.
Depending on the application, the gases or vapours released can be harmful to health and/or
the environment. Respect applicable regulations.
Protection by insect protection if the discharge is outside.
The discharge of the vacuum pump may, if not collected, create a hazardous area within the
meaning of Directive 1999/92/EC.
Do not operate the vacuum pump with obstructed exhaust (risk of explosion)
Filling of oil
3.1.3.
Remove the oil plug and fill up to the middle of the oil sight glass at the bottom of the housing.
Operation without oil or with insufficient oil may damage the vacuum pump.
The use of oil, other than that recommended by MIL' S, engages your responsibility and/or
responsibility of your supplier. The use of unsuitable oil can destroy the pump.
Electrical connection
3.1.4.
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure the
connection to be carried out correctly and in accordance with the regulations in force in the
country of use.
If the loss of vacuum can be dangerous to the process in which it is used, the vacuum pump
and its control system must be connected to a backup power supply.
