5.5 Management Entity
The management entity menu defines the IP functionality of the WCM unit to enable
remote management access via the LAN, SFP or WAN ports.

5.5.1 Proxying
The WCM product range supports proxy mode management where a local unit acts as a
proxy server and is configured with the IP address of the remote unit. The remote unit
may be simply installed in proxy client mode and it will assume all IP configuration from the
proxy server unit.
Proxying uses a proprietary extension to IEEE 802.3ah OAM and as such will only be
available for direct connections between units.
