Braking efficiency is reduced after washing
the vehicle.

After the vehicle has been washed,
brake carefully while paying attention to
the traffic conditions until braking
power has been fully restored.
To avoid damage to your vehicle when using a
car wash, ensure the following beforehand:

to avoid possible water ingress in the vehicle,
it is preferable to use car washes which allow
the high-pressure pre-cleaning to be deacti‐
vated (specification for the cabriolet pro‐
gram).
R
it is imperative to avoid a subsequent hot-
wax treatment.
R
remove the key in order to ensure that the
wind deflector on the windscreen retracts.
R
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and the
HOLD function are deactivated.
R
the 360° camera or the reversing camera is
switched off.
R
the side windows and soft top are closed
completely.
R
the blower for the ventilation/heating is
switched off.
R
the windscreen wiper switch is in position

R
in car washes with a conveyor system: neu‐
tral

is engaged.

the key is at a distance of at least 3 m away
from the vehicle, otherwise the boot lid could
open unintentionally.
