Therefore, the front passenger front airbag
will deploy during an accident even if a spe‐
cial rearward-facing child restraint system is
fitted.

Never remove a seat cushion.
The AMG sport bucket seat does not have a side
airbag. The additional protection provided by the
side airbag is not available in applicable accident
situations. This increases the risk of vehicle
occupants coming into contact with parts of the
vehicle interior at the onset of applicable acci‐
dent situations.
Status of the front passenger front airbag

child seat recognition on the front passenger

Always observe the notes on automatic child
seat recognition on the front passenger seat

The automatic front passenger airbag shutoff is
able to detect whether the front passenger seat
is occupied by a person or a child restraint sys‐
tem. The front passenger airbag and front
passenger knee airbag are enabled or disabled
accordingly.
When fitting a child restraint system to the front
passenger seat, always make sure of the follow‐
ing:

Ensure that the child restraint system is posi‐
tioned correctly (

page 51).

Always comply with the child restraint sys‐
tem manufacturer's installation instructions.
R
Never place objects (e.g. cushions) under or
behind the child restraint system.
R
Fully retract the seat cushion length adjust‐
ment.
R
The entire base of the child restraint system
must always rest on the sitting surface of the
front passenger seat.
R
The backrest of the forward-facing child
restraint system must, as far as possible, be
resting on the seat backrest of the front
passenger seat.
R
The child restraint system must not touch the
roof or be put under strain by the head
restraints. Adjust the seat backrest inclina‐
tion and the head restraint setting accord‐
ingly.

WARNING Risk of injury or death due to
objects between the seat surface and
the child restraint system
Objects between the sitting surface and the
child restraint system could affect the func‐
tion of the automatic front passenger airbag
shutoff.

Do not place any objects between the
sitting surface and the child restraint
system.
#
The entire base of the child restraint
system must always rest on the sitting
surface of the front passenger seat.
