insure adequate control, reach, oper­
ation, and com fort. The head restraint
should also be adjusted fo r proper
height so that when the cushion is
tipped com pletely forward, it should
form a cradle behind the seat
o ccu p a n t’s head.
Both the inside and outside rear view
m irrors should then be adjusted fo r
adequate rearward vision. Fasten seat
belts. Children under the age of six or
under the weight of 23 kg/50 lb
should be seated in the back seat
with an approved restraint system
properly secured.
All seat, head restraint and rear view
m irror adjustm ents as well as fasten­
ing of seat belts should only be
accom plished before the vehicle is
put into motion.
Orthopedic Seat Backrest
Some m odels may be equipped with
o rth o p e d ic seats. These seats have
an inflatable air cushion built into the
backrest to provide additional lumbar
support. The am ount of cushion
height and curvature may be adjusted
after turning the key in steering lock
to position “ 2 ” .
The inflation pressure of the air
cushion may be continuously varied
betw een position “ 0 ” = w ithout
pressure, and position “ 4 ” = maxi­
mum pressure, by changing the
pressure regulator (1) setting.
In addition, the cushion height may be
changed to five different settings
betw een position “ A ” = lowest
setting, and “ E” = highest setting, by
varying the height regulator (2)
adjustm ent.
If a driving trip is tem porarily inter­
rupted, the last cushion setting is
retained in memory, and autom atically
a djusts the cushion to this setting
w hen the trip is continued.
