Radio
The radio is programmed to automatically search the entire band at three
| | sensitivity levels. During its first sweep, only the m ost pow erful stations
H received will be selected and locked in. During the next sweep, the less pow er-

If the station seeker bar is activated w ithin 8 seconds after the radio is tuned to
a station, then the search operation will be continued at the same sensitivity
level. If 8 seconds are exceeded, the radio will revert to searching only the m ost
pow erful stations.
Direct frequency dialing
In o rder to select a station w ith a known frequency, select the wave band, press
the fu n ctio n control button

and then enter the frequency by pressing the
corresponding push buttons.
Example: FM 98.5 MHz

When dialing a frequency directly, the num ber of the push b uttons is not
displayed on the panel. The wave band is indicated by show ing “ MHz” fo r FM
or "K H z ” fo r AM.

Note:
All AM stations have allocated fre ­
quencies ending w ith a “ 0 ” .
All FM stations have allocated fre ­
quencies ending with an odd
(uneven) digit after the decimal point.
B roadcasters som etim es may not
give their exact frequency but the
next closest even number.
US radio frequency ranges:
AM 5 4 0 -1 6 0 0 KHz
FM 88.1 -1 0 7 .9 MHz
Manual tuning (used to fine tune a
station or fo r manual scanning)

wave band, press the fu n ctio n control

The frequency will increase or
decrease respectively in increm ents
of 0.1 MHz fo r FM or 1.0 KHz fo r AM.
Release the button when the desired
station is tuned in.
Unless the autom atic station seeker
bar
is activated within
8 seconds after pressing the function

the manual tuning
will autom atically be deactivated.
