When the radio is turned off by p ress­
ing the “ OFF” side of the Q 3 E S 3
sw itch or by turning the steering lock
key to the off, the cassette will auto­
matically be ejected.
Care and maintenance
To avoid deterioration of the tone
quality, occasionally clean the tape
head with the special cleaner supplied
in your glove com partm ent o r avail­
able through your dealer.
To set clock
Turn steering lock key to position
“ 1” or “ 2 ” .
Briefly press recessed time set
button H
by using a pencil or
ballpoint pen.
E nter the time at w hich you want to
start the clock by sequentially press­
ing fo u r of the to p row push buttons
t I 3 through E Q . The time entered
will be displayed.
N o te : This is a 24 hour clo ck and time
m ust be entered in all fo u r digits. A 24
hour clo ck counts tim e from m idnight
to m idnight, that is 24 hours. A time of
4:28 PM is indicated by this clo ck as
16:28 hours (12 plus 4:28 hours).
Example 1: To enter 7:30 AM,
press b u tto n s E Q , E J , E Q E Q
Example 2: To enter 4:28 PM,
press b u ttons Q 3 , CT3. CT3. m
The time entered is now stored. To
start the clock in accordance w ith a
time signal or other tim e reference,
again briefly press the recessed time
set button
A colon sign will appear between the
second and third digits
U r a e n i , to
indicate that the clock is activated.
W ith the radio sw itched off, the time
will be indicated on the digital display.
When the radio is sw itched on, the
digital display will indicate the fre ­
quency w hich the radio is tuned to.
To display time
Briefly press the call bu tto n D -The
tim e will be displayed fo r a few
seconds.
To use the timer K J
By using the tim er K B , the radio can
be autom atically turned on at a preset
time. In o rder to set the tim er D , the
steering lock key must be in position
“ 1” o r “ 2” . The tim er K B can only
turn the radio on w ith the steering
lock key in position “ 1” or “ 2 ” .
Setting the timer

2. Enter the time fo r autom atic tu rn ­
on by sequentially pressing fo u r of
the to p row push b uttons Q 3
through [ j g fo r the 24-hour time
desired.
3. Press button □ to activate the
timer. Activation of the tim er is
indicated by a colon between the
second and third digits of the
time.
Note: To activate this function each
day, press b u ttons K B and Q with
the key in steering lock position “ 1”
o r “ 2 ” . The radio will then turn on at
the preset time.
W henever you wish to verify the time at
w hich the tim er is set, press b u tto n R B
The tim e will be indicated in the digital
display. A fte r a few seconds, the
display will sw itch back to the station
frequency. To change the tim e r to a
new setting, repeat steps 1 through 3.
