Engine Oil Change and Filter
Change
To be carried out every 8000 km /
5000 miles, but at least once a year if
year-round multigrade oil is used.
Otherwise at least tw ice a year (in
spring and fall).
Under severe operating co n d ition s or
if diesel fuels with high sulphur
content (in excess of 0.5 % by
w eight) are used, the oil and filte r
should be changed every 4000 km /
2500 miles.
For regular oil level checks, refer to
“ Checking Fuels, C oolants, L ubri­
cants, e tc .’’.
Automatic-Transmission —
Fluid and Filter Change
To be carried out every 48 000 km /
30 000 miles according to th e m ainte­
nance booklet.
Under severe operating conditions,
have the autom atic transm ission
fluid changed every 24 000 km /
15 000 miles w ith o u t filte r change.
All MERCEDES-BENZ service sta­
tions maintain a sto ck of original
spare parts required fo r maintenance
and repair work. In addition, strategi­
cally located parts d istrib u tio n cen­
ters provide quick and reliable parts
service.
More than 200 000 d ifferent spare
parts, even fo r rather old vehicle
m odels, are available.

q uality inspections. Each part has
been specifically developed, manu­
fa c tu re d or selected fo r and adapted
to MERCEDES-BENZ vehicles. There­
fo re , MERCEDES-BENZ original
