Cruise Control
Any given speed above a p p ro x im a
tely 25 mph (40 k m /h ) can be m ain
tained with the cruise co n tro l by
o perating the switch.
1 = Setting (touch switch)
A ccelerating (hold switch)
2 = S etting (touch switch)
D ecelerating (hold switch)
N orm ally the vehicle is
accelerated to the desired speed
with th e accelerator. Speed is set
by briefly pushing the switch to
position “ 1” or “ 2” , and the
acce le ra to r can be released. The
speed can be increased (e. g. for
passing) by using the accelerator.
As soon as the a ccelerator is
released, the previously set
speed w ill be resum ed
autom atically.
If the set speed is to be increased
o r decreased slightly (e. g. fo r
adaption to the flo w of traffic),
hold switch in position “ 1” or “ 2”
until the desired speed is
reached. W hen the switch is
released, the newly set speed
rem ains constant.
3 = C ancelling
To cancel the cruise control,
b rie fly push lever to position “ 3” .
The cruise co n tro l will also be
cancelled if the brake pedal is
actuated or if the vehicle speed
dro p s on steep grades by m ore
than 20 % below the set speed.
4 = Resume
If the lever is briefly pushed to
position “ 4 ” when driving at a
speed exceeding 25 mph (40 k m /h )
that speed is resum ed which
was set p rio r to the cancellation of
the cruise control. The last
m em orized speed is cancelled
when the key in the steering lock
is turn e d to position “ 1” o r “ 0".
Im portant:
Please do not use the cruise control if
tra ffic c o n d itio n s do not m ake it
advisable to m aintain a steady speed,
i. e. in heavy tra ffic o r on tw isting or
slick and m uddy roads.
Position “ R esum e” should be en
gaged only if the d rive r is fu lly aware
of the previously set speed and
w ishes to resum e this pa rticu la r
preset speed.
W hen d rivin g with the cruise control,
the selector lever m ust not be shifted
to position “ N” as otherw ise the
engine will overrev.
