Battery Isolator

The vehicle is fitted with a Cartek XS Battery Isolator, McLaren Customer Racing part number
13MA149RP. The battery isolator is positioned in the front luggage compartment, mounted to the
right-hand side longitudinal crash structure.
The isolator has an LED which displays the status. When the internal master switch is turned on the
status LED will be illuminated continuously when the isolator is fully functional. If the isolator is in an
error state the LED will flash in one of three patterns.
1 Flash External kill button pressed, or circuit broken.
If the external kill button has not been activated, then check the wiring between the battery isolator
and the button.
2 Flashes Maximum temperature exceeded.
The battery isolator will automatically switch off if maximum temperature is exceeded. This may
occur after a very prolonged period of engine cranking.
8 Flashes Maximum current in negative circuit exceeded.
Check for a short from battery positive to chassis such as faulty alternator or starter motor.
