Brake Fluid Level Check

For details of the specification of fluid used by this system and the system capacity, please refer to:
Brake Fluid Specification.

Remove the access cover in the scuttle panel

Unscrew and remove the brake fluid reservoir cap

The brake fluid level is correct if the brake fluid level just covers the base of the filter in the filler
neck

Using the correct specification of brake fluid, top up if necessary

Refit the brake fluid reservoir cap and access cover

NOTE: Brake fluid is toxic, please exercise caution.

NOTE: Avoid contact of brake fluid with painted surfaces. Wash off any brake fluid with water
immediately.

NOTE: If the brake system is dismantled a brake bleed will be required. Following removal of any
brake lines or ABS modulator from the car, McLaren Customer Racing recommends a full ABS
bleed routine is competed using the MDS tool. Please refer to:

ABS Modulator Bleed.

NOTE: Make sure all brake fluid lines are fitted to the correct locations on the Hydraulic
Power Unit. Please refer to: Hydraulic Power Unit.
