Maxedia 4

Video-In Devices

The Video-In Devices screen is used to set up the source for live video capture.  The Video Input
section allows you to choose which capture card and which input on that capture card will be used for
video-in.  The available options in this screen are dictated by the Hardware version you are working
with. The above example is from a Broadcast Revision E Maxedia with the Black Magic Decklink
card.  The Enable/Disable toggle button in the upper left corner must be set to Enable (Red) in order
to utilize video capture.  If you will not be using video capture you can set this to Disable (Blue) to
save some CPU and Memory usage.  If you are using a Maxedia without a Black Magic Decklink
card, select the card you are using from the Select Video column.  Next you must select the input on
that card that you are using from the Select Source column, this will most likely be Composite if you
are using the standard BNC connector on the front of the IO Box. Next select the Resolution and
Format that MOST CLOSELY MATCHES the resolution and format of the video stream you are
capturing (the output resolution and format of the camera you are using for example).

The VNC Connection section is where you will set up the VNC (Virtual Network Computing) server. 
VNC is used to capture the display of a computer also set up on the VNC server.  The most common
application for this connection in the Maxedia is to capture PowerPoint type presentations.  Input the
IP Address and Password for the VNC server of the computer you wish to receive video from and click
Connect.
