4.5.3 Steel cables replacement
IMPORTANT!
The steel cable must be replaced in the presence of trained and competent personnel.
When replacing the cables, it is important to remember that they are the main element that permits the correct action of the
tipper body covering.
WARNING!
This activity is one of the most important for the proper working of the covering.The better the alignment,
the easier the handling of the tarpaulin, in case of manually operated version, and the lesser the motor
effort in case of electrically operated version.
WARNING!
During installation of the metal cable, it is strictly mandatory to wear gloves in order to prevent hand
injuring caused by the possible fraying of the metal mesh.
Removing the cable:
To properly remove the cable it is necessary to operate on the Left and Right front supports. Operating alternately on the two
supports, proceed as follows:
•
Unblock the cable loosening the central screw (
3
) on the support.
•
Using a torque wrench loosen the screw placed on the front side (
1
) of the support. As a consequence the pulley (
2
)
moves forward loosening the steel cable.
Now you need to release the steel cable from the covering pulling
bow’s feet.
•
Loosen the clamps (
6
)
on both sides of the pulling bow
(
4
)
and pass both ends of the cable out the clamps.
•
Take the cable which returns from the rear pulley back (
7
) and
pass it all the way out at the outside of the pulling bow
support.
•
Pass out the steel cable (
8
) from the hole of all bows feet.
