9. Starting:
a. With the enging at approximately 1/3 throttle
position, engage PTO, release clutch, and
move forward.
b.
Position wheel angle to direct Reddi-Arm and
mower into the ditch or over the area to be cut.
c.
Lower machine into ground.
d. Increase throttle position until desired engine
RPM is reached.
10. Stopping
a.
Move the wheel angle to direct unit out of the
ditch and back on the road.
b. Reduce engine RPM and disengage PTO.
c.
Raise mower.
d.
Press clutch to stop forward motion.
11.
Mower Wing Position
Using the wing lift circuits and optional selector valve
control box, lower the mower wings to the ground. For
more information and best practices on lowering the
mower wings, please refer to the mower manual.
12. Wheel Frame Angle
The rear axle can be angled up to 48° left or right
from center to steer the cab mower. Use the hydraulic
steering circuit in the cab to control the angle of the
rear axle and steer the mower. Reddi-Arm operators
should observe the position of the mower while
driving and adjust as required to get the job done.
13. Side Roads
All roads intersect side roads leading to fields or
other destinations. When approaching a side road, it
is recommended that these steps be taken
a.
Slow travel speed.
b.
Raise mower deck.
c.
Turn wheel axle and move mower back in the
center of the road.
d.
Slow PTO speed.
e.
Reverse this procedure when side road is
passed.
14. Ditch Obstacles
There are many things that could be an obstacle in
the ditch, including but not limited to: highway signs,
culverts, rocks, debris, etc. Use the same procedure
as described in ‘Side Roads’ to avoid all obstacles.
