ribbon. See section
To
install
a color or monochrome ribbon in the image printer, follow these steps:
1)
Remove the ribbon from the packaging and remove any stickers or bands tying the spools together.
The spool with all the ribbon on it is called the
supply spool
, and the other end is the
take-up spool
.
2)
Orient the ribbon so the supply spool is near the card stock hoppers. The ribbon stretched between
the two spools should be facing toward the ceiling (see
Figure 6-25 – Inserting the Image Printer Ribbon
3)
Place the supply spool between the notches near the hinge of the print head.
4)
Unroll the take-up spool and place it between the notches on the other side of the print head.
5)
Close the print head and press until you feel it lock.

Calibrate the ribbon sensor (see section
6.8.4 How to Select and Synchronize the Image Printer
7)
Close the EC2000’s top access door.
