Camera focus and laser focus should be
set as coincidental at the factory. That
is when the camera displays a clear
sharp picture on the video screen the
laser should be in or very near optimal
focus. To insure this is true, a simple
cutoff program can be run to verify this
condition.

Lower the Z axis until a clear picture appears on the screen.

Create a simple program that will:
Close the 5C collet.
Turn the water ON.
Turn the assist gas ON.
Set laser parameters.
Open the shutter.
Rotate the tube 365 degrees.
Close the shutter.
Move the X axis .500".
Open the shutter.
Rotate the tube 365 degrees to cut the piece off.

Close the laser guard window or put on
laser protection goggles.
Activate the program. If you see a large
plum of sparks from the surface of the
tube try lowering or raising the Z axis
until the sparks stop or greatly decrease.
When the sparks have decreased or
stopped, adjust the camera focus to
again display a sharp clear image on the
video screen. This may take several
attempts to accomplish.
