Lubrication
Proper lubrication is essential to ensuring the service life of the windrower.
For information on the type of lubricants to use, refer to
6.2 Lubricants, Fluids, and System Capacities, page 135
3.12.1
Lubrication Procedure
This procedure should be followed when you are adding grease to each fitting.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
1.
Wipe the grease fitting with a clean cloth before greasing to avoid injecting dirt and grit into the fitting.
2.
Inject grease through the fitting with a grease gun until the grease overflows the fitting. Do
NOT
overgrease the wheel
bearings.
3.
Leave excess grease on the fitting to keep out dirt.
4.
Replace any loose or broken fittings immediately.
5.
Remove and thoroughly clean any fittings (including the lubricant passageway) that will not take grease. Replace the
fitting, if necessary.
3.12.2
Lubrication Points
Add grease to these fittings before delivering the windrower. Be sure to leave a small blob of grease on top of each fitting
to prevent contamination.
