17.10 SLMP CLIENT
PROBLEM
CHECK

DL8 is unable to
connect to SLMP-
compatible devices.
Isn’t the LAN cable disconnected
or removed from a hub?
Connect the LAN cable firmly. Check the connection lamp of
the hub.
Is the IP address set to DL8
manually?
Set the IP address manually. (Refer to Section 4.3.)
Do DL8 and the SLMP devices
have the same network address?
Check the network address.
e.g.
DL8: 192.168.0.1
slave: 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Do the IP addresses of the SLMP
devices coincide with those IP ad-
dresses registered as slaves with
DLCFG?
Check the IP addresses. (Refer to Section 7.2.1.2.)
Is the SLMP server function of
each SLMP device enabled?
Enable the SLMP server function of each SLMP device.
17.11 E-MAILING (TYPE B, C, D & E)

send an e-mail.
Is the PC connecting to the
Internet?
Make sure that the PC connects to the Internet.
(Refer to Section 17.6.)
Are the IP addresses and/or
default gateway of DL8 set cor-
rectly?
Check the settings of the IP addresses and/or default gateway
of DL8. (Refer to Section 4.3.)
Is the destination e-mail address
correct?
Check the destination e-mail address.
Be careful of the difference between “_” and “-” for instance.

SMTP server

POP3 server
∙ Mail password
Are the above settings correct?
Check the settings on e-mailing the provider supplies.
Make sure that an e-mail can be sent to the attention address
with mail software of the PC.
Doesn’t the mail server of the
provider need authentication
(SMTP, POP before SMTP, etc.) in
sending an e-mail?
Confirm the authentication the provider requires and configure
the e-mail settings. (Refer to Section 9.2.)
With POP before SMTP, is the
specified port address of the
router open?
Manually set the No. specified in the NAT setting of the router.
(Refer to the instruction manual of the router.)
Doesn’t the mail service of the
provider have a nuisance e-mail
reception prevention function?
Check a response from the mail server with terminal software.
(Refer to Section 9.8.)
Unable to open the
web browser view
for e-mail setting.

Confirm the URL. (Refer to Section 9.5.)
Login ID and password
Confirm the login ID “dl8cfg” and your password.
