AutoSense routine does not de tect black line
or continuous media.
All LK-B10 print ers have a transmissive (gap) sen -
sor designed to de tect the top of each label or
tag. It does this in one of two ways:
•
Sensing through the label liner at the gap be -
tween labels.
• Looking through a hole (notch) in the tag.
Printers equipped with a black line sen sor can
determine the top of each la bel or tag by sens ing
a “black line” preprinted on the me dia back ing.
Sen sor lo ca tion is im por tant when se lect ing the
proper of label or tag type for printing. See the
printer user’s man ual for specific information on
align ment, ad just ment, and po si tion of the
transmissive (gap) or re flective (black line) sensors.
If the label size is not set prop erly, the printer may
print off the edge of the la bel or tag and onto the
backing or platen roller. Re peated printing off the
edge of the la bel can cause ex cessive print head
wear.
Maintain a min imum mar gin of 0.04 inches (1 mm)
on all sides of the label.
Setting the la bel size to large can cause the printer to
skip la bels.
