Connecting IP control module Gigabit Ethernet trunk connections
The IP2000 has a single Gigabit Ethernet port. The IP2100 has two Gigabit Ethernet
ports. These ports can be connected to provide Ethernet trunk connections for the
Stinger unit. SFP modules for these ports are installed and connected in the same
way in both the IP2000 and IP2100 IP control modules. However, the SFP module
slides straight into the IP2000 module at a 90° angle to the face of the unit, and the
SFP module slides into the face of the IP2100 module at an upward angle, as shown
in Figure 2-9.
Note
When routing optical fibers for the IP2000 or IP2100, be sure to provide
clearance for the removal and replacement of the chassis air filter. Otherwise, it will
be necessary to unplug these optical connections when replacing the filter.
