APPENDIX
Using your Business Cordless 901 on a PARTNER System
This appendix provides the instructions for using the BC901 with a PARTNER
system. Please refer to the previous sections in this manual for information
regarding the operation of functions specific to the BC901 itself.
You can connect your BC901 in the same manner as a standard telephone—
directly to the PARTNER system without using expensive adapters or
connectors. Your BC901, like any other standard telephone, can do many of
the things that the PARTNER telephone can do, however, because the BC901
does not have PARTNER line buttons, feature buttons, or dedicated function
buttons, basic call handling procedures are sometimes different from those for
PARTNER telephones. In addition, the following actions cannot be performed
on a BC901 on a PARTNER system.
●
Because a BC901 does not have line buttons, you cannot make or
answer a call on specific line. You can only make calls on automatically
selected lines.
●
You cannot join a call at another extension.
●
You cannot pick up a call on hold at another extension.
On PARTNER Plus and PARTNER II Systems, you can use the Direct Line
Pickup—Idle Line Feature to make a call on a specific line. You can also use
Direct Line Pickup—Active Line to answer or join a call on a specific line.
The following actions cannot be performed on any PARTNER system.
●
You cannot enter program mode.
●
You cannot use the System Password.
●
You cannot use the following system features: Do Not Disturb, Exclusive
Hold, Save Number Redial, Account Code Entry, Background Music,
Manual Signaling, VMS Cover, Voice Interrupt on Busy, Voice Interrupt on
Busy Talkback, Voice Mailbox Transfer or Privacy.
Programming Extensions for the BC901
You must set the Automatic Line Selection to “Intercom first” for any BC901
extension expected to make intercom calls, regardless of whether the BC901 is
an extension by itself (Standalone) or shares an extension with a PARTNER
phone (Combination Extension). This means that when you press the [
PHONE
]
button on the Remote Unit, you are automatically connected to an intercom
line. Then, to get an outside line dial [
9
]. (To set Automatic Line Selection, see
the Programming and Use Guide for your PARTNER System.)
