– If topping up is necessary, the front
engine compartment panel must be
removed, see page 191.
– Unscrew the oil filler cap counter-
clockwise, see item 5 on page 190,
then add a suitable quantity of
the recommended engine oil (see
‘Recommended Lubricants’ section),
taking care not to spill any oil onto
the engine or electrical components;
use a funnel if necessary and clean
up any spillage.
– Allow several minutes for the oil to
drain through to the sump before
re-checking the oil level.
– Refit the filler cap, turning clockwise
until secure.
WARNING: Engine oil is
hazardous to your health and may
be fatal if swallowed.
WARNING: Prolonged and repeat-
ed contact with used engine oil
may cause serious skin disorders,
including dermatitis and cancer.
WARNING: Use protective gloves
to avoid contact with skin as far as
possible and wash skin thoroughly
after any contact.
WARNING: Keep engine oil out of
the reach of children.
Windscreen Washer Reservoir
The blue coloured reservoir filler cap
for the windscreen washer reservoir
is located to the left-hand side of the
engine compartment.
Topping Up
1. Lift the tailgate, see page 48.
2. Unscrew the filler cap counter-clock-
wise to open.
3. Fill the reservoir with clean water and
a good quality windscreen washer
fluid (see ‘Technical Data’ section),
until the fluid level is visible just
below the filler neck.
4. Wipe up any spills immediately and
wash the affected area with water.
5. Screw the filler cap clockwise onto
the reservoir until secure.
