Prior to disconnecting external electrical power, ensure that all
À
ight control switches on pilot overhead panel are
in NORM or AUTO, as required, except that INBD ELEVATOR LEFT SYS 3 and RIGHT SYS 2 are in OFF.
Failure to comply could result in damage to the airplane.
a. Ensure that EMERG EXIT light switch (Figure 1-25, 2) is in DISARM.
b. Place EXT PWR switch (Figure 1-23, 22) to OFF.
c. Ensure that ACFT BATT switch (11) and APU BATTERY CHARGER switch (1) are in OFF.
d. Move VOLT SEL switch (3) to RTRU 2.
e. Ensure that INST POWER switch (Figure 1-28, 1) on pilot instrument panel is in OFF.
f. Place external power cart switch to OFF.
g. Disconnect external power cart plug from external power receptacle.
h. Close external power receptacle door.
1.3.12
Connecting SCM External Electrical Power (AF68-0213 and AF68-0216).
(See Figure 1-29.) An external
power receptacle (8) is installed inside a
À
ush-mounted box on the lower right side of the fuselage at FS 994 and WL 100.
The receptacle is protected by a hinged door (6) which will remain open unless it is manually closed. The receptacle is
located 20 inches aft of the airplane external electrical power receptacle. This receptacle is dedicated to providing power
only to the space cargo container. The external power source must be capable of supplying 115/200 VAC, 3-phase, 400-Hz
power. Use the following procedure to connect external power.
Before connecting Space Cargo Modi
¿
cation (SCM) external power, ensure that a warning tag is not attached to
the SCM electrical receptacle. Failure to comply could result in injury to personnel.
a. Ensure that EXTERNAL switch (2) on the SCM POWER control panel at
À
ight engineer station is in OFF.
b. Ensure that circuit breaker (3) on the SCM bus protection panel located on AC load center is closed.
c. Ensure that SCM EXT PWR CONTROL, PH A, PH B, and PH C circuit breakers (4) located on right side of cargo
compartment at FS 1000.0 are closed.
Ensure that the external power unit switch is in OFF. Failure to comply could cause injury to personnel.
d. Obtain the A/M32A-60 (or equivalent) power cart. Place the power cart unit switch to OFF.
e. Open the SCM external power receptacle door (6).
f. Ensure that the SCM EXT PWR CONTROL circuit breaker (7) in the SCM external power receptacle box is closed.
