Lavatory Servicing. (See Figure 3-34.) Crew lavatory is installed on the right side of the airplane
aft of relief crew seats and forward of the galley. Troop compartment lavatory, consisting of two separate
toilet units, is installed on forward right end of troop compartment (except on AF68-0213 and AF68-0216).
A service truck capable of supplying fresh water is required to fill the water storage tank behind the crew
galley between FS 844 and FS 864. Both relief crew compartment and troop compartment lavatories are
serviced from a service panel located at FS 815.

0024) of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.7
Waste Tank Drain Procedure. (See Figure 3-34.) Service the lavatory waste tank as follows:
a.
Open the service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
b.
Open the lever lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).
c.
Connect rinse water hose of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the rinse nipple (4).
d.
Open the waste valve (5) cover.
e.
Connect the service truck waste service hose to the waste valve (5).
f.
Open the internal flapper valve of the waste valve (5) using the PUSH TO OPEN lever (2) on the
waste valve (5).
CAUTION
The waste tank drain valve must be open before starting the waste service
truck suction pump. Failure to comply could result in damage to airplane.
NOTE
Initial pull force for drain cable handle may be up to 70 pounds during
break-in period.
g.
Open the waste tank drain valve by the pulling the drain cable handle (6) out from the service
panel.
h.
Start the waste service truck suction pump.
i.
After waste tank and servicing truck waste drain line has been completely drained, stop the waste
truck suction pump.
j.
Rinse the waste tank by pumping water from the service truck into the rinse line for a minimum of
2 minutes.
k.
Stop the flow of rinse water.
l.
Start waste service truck suction pump and completely drain the service truck waste line.
CAUTION
The service truck waste suction pump must be off prior to closing ACFT
waste tank drain valve. Failure to comply could result in damage to the
airplane.
m.
Stop the waste truck suction pump after all water has been drained from waste line.
n.
Push the drain cable handle (6) fully in to close the waste tank drain valve.
