Remove Control and Display Electrical Power and Core Processing Electrical Power.
Use the following
procedure to remove control and display and core processing power.
NOTE
The password for EDS access can be found in the notes section of AFTO Form 781A.
a. On PCIU if PCIU display is locked, place cursor on EDS icon, then press left mouse button. Enter user password, then
press left mouse button.
NOTE
For all engine runs ensure an RMM card is installed prior to selecting the Finalize Flight control.
b. Finalize the EDS data by selecting the Finalize Flight control in the upper right hand corner of the PCIU display. This
step should be accomplished with or without the use of an RMM in the PCIU.
NOTE
It is essential that EDS data is
¿
nalized using the PCIU before removing power from the AMC. Removing power
from the AMC, before the data is
¿
nalized from the PCIU, may result in the loss or corruption of data for the
current
À
ight.
c. PCIU will
¿
nalize the current data set. This process could require several minutes depending on the length of operation
time. When complete, PCIU will display FINALIZATION COMPLETE.
d. On PCIU, select File, then select Exit option.
e. On PCIU, select Windows START, then select Turn Off Computer. Con
¿
rm by selecting Turn Off.
f. Close PCIU.
g. If applicable, on Printout Unit (POU) press ON pushbutton to turn off POU.
h. If applicable, remove RMM from PCIU.
i. Open the red-guarded AMC POWER switch on
À
ight engineer circuit breaker panel No. 3, adjacent to AMC POWER
circuit breaker, and set AMC ON/OFF switch to OFF.
j. Open ground switches on navigator circuit breaker panels No. 1 and No. 2 (Figure 1-21).
k. Open ground switches on the pilot emergency circuit breaker panel (Figure 1-21).
