R ecording from a VC R or C am corder/ H i8 / D V
B efore starting to record
This D VD -R ecorder can accept standard C VBS (R C A) analog
audio/video cable or IEEE-1394 cable and record C am corder onto
D VD in the digital video form at of your choice. The unit functions
m uch like a digital VC R . Exam ples of use include archiving
videotapes or transferring from a Video C assette R ecorder or D V/
V8 C am corder to a recordable D VD disc.
This D VD -R ecorder allow s basic D V control w ith the D VD
R ecorder’s rem ote control w hen connected via the D V Link.
The front panel and rear panel connection
C onnect a Video C assette R ecorder or C am corder to the unit’s
input term inals.
To start recording
1.Press [SETU P] to select “R EC O R D ” to set the
recording m ode. ( H Q , SP, LP, EP or SLP )
2.Place a recordable D VD disc on the tray w ith
the disc’s label facing up.
3.Press [SO U R C E] to select the signal-input
(TV, A V1-Front, A V2-R ear, S-Video, D V).
N otes:
4.Start to play on the VC R or C am corder.
5.Press [R EC O R D ] on the D VD -R ecorderto
record your video/audio signal from the VC R or
V8 C am corder onto a recordable D VD disc.
6.Press [ STO P] to stop recording.
To pause recording
Press [
PAU SE] to pause recording, and if you w ant to restart
recording, press the [
PAU SE] button to resum e recording.
