M anually setting the date and tim e
If the date/tim e is incorrect, this could be due to a w eak or
disrupted TV signal.
Set the date m anually
1. Press [Setup] on the rem ote control. The setup m enu w ill
appear.
2. Select “System ”using [
S
] or [
T
] and press [EN TER ].
3. Select “D ate”using [
S
] or [
T
] and press [EN TER ].
4. C hange the day/m onth/year in the highlighted field using [
S
]
or [
T
] or the num ber buttons 0..9 on your rem ote control
and confirm w ith [EN TER ]
5. W hen all settings are correct, press [
W
] until return to the
m ain level.
6.To exit the setup m enu, press [Setup].
Set the tim e m anually

4. C hange the “hour/m inute/second”in the highlighted field

control.
5. C hange the “AM /PM ”using [

] and confirm w ith
[EN TER ].
6. W hen all settings are correct, press [
W
] until return to the
m ain level.
7.To exit the setup m enu, press [Setup].

C heck that the clock is correctly set before setting the tim er
recording. If not, the tim er recording cannot be m ade.

You can change the video output m ode w hen you press
[SETU P] button and to select the “System -->Video
O utput-->Progressive”.
(Video w ill not be displayed correctly if connected to an
incom patible television.)

Setting video output
1.Press the [Setup] button and the setup m enu w ill be
displayed.

Select“4:3”(regular) or “16:9”(w idescreen) to suit your
television. If you have a regular 4:3 television, you can also
select how video on som e discs is presented.
4:3 Letter B ox
(select w hen you connect the unit to a
norm al (4:3) TV.)
W hen playing back a D VD -VID EO disc
recorded in w ide picture form at, the
picture is show n w ith black bars at the
top and bottom .
4:3 Pan & Scan
(select w hen you connect the unit to a

W hen playing back a D VD -VID EO disc
recorded in w ide picture form at, the
picture is zoom ed to fill the screen
vertically, and the left and right sides of
the im age are chopped off. N ote, how ever, that the picture w ill
be show n in the 4:3 LB m ode even if you select the 4:3 PS
m ode depending on the disc.

Initial setup

C onfirm the antenna is connected correctly, and follow the steps
below to m ake the personal adjustm ents for using the D VD -
R ecorder.
1. Press [ PO W ER ] to turn on the unit.
2. Press [SETU P] to display the setup m enu.
3. Press [

] to select the “System ”,“Language”,
“Playback”,“R ecord”,“Audio”,“TV Tuner”and press [

] to return to the previous or next m enu.
4. Press [

] to select the item that you w ant to change

N otes:
To record TV program s using the tim er record feature, you m ust
set the tim e accurately.
