Recording
Before recording
Please use qualified recordable discs/VHS tapes to achieve best
recording quality. Check our website for the recommended media
list.
Note:
For discs:
1. DVD+R/-R and DVD+R DL discs are write-once media, and
DVD+RW/-RW discs are rewritable media.
2. Before playing a
DVD+R/DVD+R DL/DVD-R/DVD-RW
disc on
other compatible equipment, you need to
finalize
the disc.
3. You cannot add new recording sessions to
DVD-R/DVD-RW/
DVD+R/DVD+R DL
discs after the discs are finalized.
4. In some cases, you may not be able to add new recording
sessions to a recordable disc which contains sessions
recorded with other DVD recorders.
5. If a power failure occurs, the program you are recording may
be lost.
For VHS tapes:
Break the video cassettes’ tab to prevent accidental erasure. Cover
the hole with a double layer of adhesive tape when you want to use
the VHS tapes for recording again.
Press [RECORD] to start recording.
After [RECORD] is pressed, it may take a few seconds for the unit
to initialize.
Recording continues until it is manually stopped or when the disc
or the VHS tape is full.
To stop recording
When you press [
STOP] , it may take a few seconds for the
recording to stop and the session to close.
To pause recording
Press [ PAUSE] to pause recording, and press [ PAUSE] or
[RECORD] to resume recording.
To change the recording mode
Press [SETUP] to adjust the setting through the Setup menu
(Setup --> Record --> DVD Quality or Tape Quality)

Note:
You cannot change the recording mode once a recording session
has begun. The new setting will not be valid until the next recording
session.
To check the media status while recording
Press [DISPLAY] , the recording information is displayed.
Recording Television Programs
1. Press [ POWER] to turn on the unit.
2. Make sure that a recordable disc or a VHS tape
is inserted or loaded for recording.
When you insert a new recordable DVD disc for recording, the
recorder will automatically start the disc preparation process.
3. Press [SOURCE] and [
] [
] to select “TV” as the
signal input source.
4. Press [ CH
] or press [
] [
] to select a
channel you want to record.
You can also use the number buttons on the remote control to
enter the desired channel number. Press [ENTER] after the desired
channel number is selected.
Note:
Once recording has begun, you cannot change the channel.
5. Press [VHS] or [DVD] to select the target medium for
recording.
The VHS tape begins recording at the point where it was left. You
must select the desired recording location on the tape.
*LVC-9016G:
This unit can record on DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW
discs and VHS tapes.
*LVC-9017GDL:
This unit can record on DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/
+RW, DVD+R DL (double layer) discs and VHS tapes.
